Last night I had the chance to see the most anticipated movie of the year: Avatar . I also believe that it is the best film of 2009, was its use of technology that is unprecedented. It's been a while since I went to the cinema and I was almost disappointed after each film. This is not the case with Avatar , believe my word.
The story takes place on the planet Pandora, a planet several light years from Earth. The RDA Corporation has settled in order to reap the unobtanium, a natural resource found there in large quantities and is worth gold. The company has discovered a very large deposit in a forest populated Na'vi, the natives of the planet. To learn more about the site, the company is turning to Jake, a paraplegic ex-Marine has replaced his brother in the Avatar program, where he will be artificially incorporated into the body of a Na'vi. His trip to the GDR Corporation will forever change his view of the forest and the people Na'vi.
The film is colored by love, war, hope and the environment. One can easily notice the sarcasm that James Cameron has made in history by telling a few human history: the profit motive that drives to destroy the environment to enrich themselves.
The atmosphere created in the forest is unique and beautiful. I fell in love with the forest Na'vi! The colors are so rich and beautiful that was overthrown at first contact, and you wonder again and again. With the use of 3D and the creation of the computer environment, the result is simply stunning! James Cameron has created a world, an environment and people that we are reviewing some of the movies.
In some parts of the movie, we can observe several similarities with the environment and the world of Alien (one of the previous films of James Cameron ): buildings humans, BattleMech, the Valkyrie, weapons and all other vessels. There's even Sigourney Weaver as a scientist. Those who love the world of Starcraft will love!
I recommend it to everyone! This is definitely the movie to see during the holidays and also the best film of the year (and for quite some time). It adds to my Top 5 films, and I'll probably go see it again a second time in cinema.
